131 by Safari Room

Nashville’s Safari Room has built a bit of a masterpiece, and I don’t throw that term around. This track is layered, dynamic, and full of energy. The vocals are rich, pitch-perfect and poetic. Nice percussive elements sit across from a verb-y guitar and interesting ambient sounds. Then the chorus hits, you fall back, realizing for the moment just how grand this sound has become… it ends as fast as it begins, and leaves you wanting to get back to that space….

I really love this brand of alt-indie rock… it’s full of energy, and, oh, did I mention the guitar tone… damn. Wait till the ending.
