Confessions by Orlando Hotopf

Stolkholm’s Orlando Hotopf has a great moody vocal. This is his first release, recorded in Sweden and across the pond in the U.S. by Zebastian Swartz and Greg Calbli (The Strokes, Bowie and Bon Iver to name a few…) .

I like the energy in the guitar, the true indie rock sound really comes through in his playing. The instrumentation is pretty straight-up but well balanced, and nicely produced. There is a fun sound, a little akin to a garage rock sound in the tone and playing style, however, Orlando has a mature vocal that seems to really equal the playing field.
