LA musician and filmmaker, Kowloon hits us up with a funky, Peter Gabriel-esque groove that hits some bitchin’ 80’s vibes.
The track feels good, it plucks some rhythmic bass lines that fill this mystical void behind the artists supple vocals. You can feel that Talking Heads pop flare in his nuanced lyric and vocal delivery. There seems to be a underlying energy that doesn’t quite drop, however fills the track with an almost dreamy transient sound.
The song tells the story of being the survivor of a sunken west coast. It’s melancholy to a tee, with a hint of fun. Does that make sense… have a go, and let me know what you think.
