Horse On Fire by V.V. Lightbody

I am enamoured with the funky groove and rolling R&B cadence in this track. Chicago’s own V.V. Lightbody has self-produced a wonderful iteration of modern folk-pop that collides with more chaotic and cultural undertones.

The tone on the album is warm, there’s a bluesy strut that comes through on this track. The lyric is self reflective and tainted with a worldly awareness. I love the child like elements, the pauses, the change in direction and the wispy moments that create a more complex lister experience.
