I Am A River by Gambling Hearts

This Salisbury, Wiltshire trio has a gnarly melodic style that plays into the hearts of any Americana rocker.

Clear comparisons to Drive-By Truckers, and the Canadian group Blue Rodeo. I appreciate the 3 piece approach. This sound is straight to your face rock style that really builds this aggressive power that you miss out on some Americana acts. The band actually makes the connection to the poetic nature of Neil Young ( absolutely!) and Elliot Smith, and the sonic inspiration of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (hell’s yeah!), and Nirvana.

This track is a stunning rootsy rock tune. The vocalist captures all the emotion and energy in the lyric and has such a great cadence. It’s a rock tune – that really rocks!
