Nolan is a blues guitar rockstar, turned UK pop aficionado. Seriously, Nolan is writing really catchy, melodic anthems that just sit so well in a laidback psych-pop playlist. As a musician, Garrett began touring his own grungy blues tunes when he was a teenager, pushing the rocker nametag. Garrett eventually matures out of the rock-laden youth and begins to dial in his more delicate nature as an emotive songwriter.

Leaving the Pacific Northwest in 2016, Nolan moves to Liverpool, UK, to attend the performing arts school there. This ultimately drives his songwriting even further as he explores more dreamy mixes and introspective alternative pop styles.

Ingenuine comes out of the lockdown in early 2020, coinciding with his graduation from college. This transition out of school and the oddity of a global pandemic left Garrett in a reflective and more tangible state of belief.

“shit, my life is actually happening.”

Nolan Garrett

This track is about pushing aside the dreaminess and tackling the reality that tomorrow is here today.
