Like a modern Jesus Christ by Hola la Poyana

A gritty lo-fi recording meets the welcoming wash of some studio production, Sardinian troubadour, Raffaele Badas, is reaching into his soul and delivering some great rootsy folk tunes.

The setting, an old house scattered in the Sardinian countryside; is the perfect backdrop to feel the soul, heart, and passion that Hola la Poyana conveys in this wonderful romp. The story is very developed, an orphan found in a cave, adopted, and grows up falling in love with two twin sisters. Of course, there is the evil one, and the good one. The songwriting is great, the feeling evoked in the lyric and the delivery in this mezzo-folk style plays to Raffaele’s strengths.
