Holden Laurence - Like James Dean

Like James Dean by Holden Laurence

Holden Laurence’s new single, Like James Dean (2019), is a violent collision of coming-of-age angst and naivete and the disillusionment and desperation of the new American Dream, unfulfilled. Hard-driving and relentless, the persistent pulse of the rhythm section anchors Holden’s more whimsical musings about youth, celebrity, and the obstacles of forming an identity in the modern age.

Holden once again recruited long-time collaborator and drummer Michael O’Brien of The Modern Electric. The Like James Dean sessions were recorded at Fe True Productions (Cleveland) and Bobby Peru Recording Studios (Milwaukee), and were engineered, mixed, and mastered by Shane Olivo, in partnership with executive producer Dr. Michael Bell. In addition to self-producing, all instruments and vocals, with the exception of drums and percussion, were performed by Holden Laurence.
