Marshmallow Lollipop by Skygasm

The London/Scotland duo that makes Skygasm has released another brooding psychadelic track that balances this unique blend of surreal shoegaze.

The vocal is fantastic, so lush and ambient careening overtop of the over the top fuzzed-out guitars. Japanese born vocalist Akiko Matsuda is the “real sound” that all shoegaze should really be compared to. Her tone is transient, lush and utterly soaked in a fluid ambience.

I adore the guitar tone in this track. The low end is gnarly and thick, while there is still some room in the head for more ambience. The production is reminiscent of more classic/vintage recordings; with lush tube warmth and compression for days, that ultimately creates this uncomplicated sound.
