Mortar & Pestle by jjoey

This is a slow burn, very eclectic vocal and simplified guitar structure the track. I enjoyed the vocal, felt the subdued energy was a nice complement to the indie garage rock backing that the track delves into.

The distorted backing guitar is nicely pushed deep in the mix, along with some raw percussive sounds and the droning wail from the layered melody. The percussion is a bit a kin to indie rockers like early Nirvana or White Stripes. The real beauty is how this is complemented with the acoustic and vocal that stay floating on top of the track.
