Never Would Have Known by The Melissa June Band

Melissa has a voice reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, her tenor flare is a lovely balance with the eclectic mix and balanced production in this track. The song has a very mature sound, nice production and even pacing within the rhythm and percussive elements.

I appreciate the little magical moments where her voice soars a little and catches up to itself. This is a relationship song, between oneself and another. There is hope in the vocal and a sense of ownership that really comes through in the track.

The violin is a nice addition and plays well alongside the simplicity in the percussion and acoustic. A beautiful and poetic tune, enjoy.
