Release The Pressure by Refuge

Indie rockers Refuge have created a energy driven tune that delivers a truly funky sound. In the style of The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Release the Pressure has some nice transitions amidst rocking guitar and bass. The guitar is jangly and clean, not overladen with unnecessary distortion or an overly grungy sound. The track is fuzzy and more soul/funk inspired than that of a garage rock outfit. I think the mix shows off the tight driving bass and expressive kit, while it’s obvious that the Refuge vocalist has really tapped into the Anthony Kiedis style. It works.
