Coming out of Melbourne, Kino Motel has this easy alt-pop groove that is so infectious and compelling. I enjoyed the shuffle in the kit and subtle guitar notes. The atmosphere in the track is slowly built over the course of the track, while Rosa Mercedes feeds this melodic and melancholic vocal.
Ed Fraser, the champion behind the guitar and synth, drives this fat bass tone as a perfect accompaniment to the quirky percussive sounds, led by Josefin Runsteen, in the tune.
There is nothing pretentious about Kino Motel, the sound is eclectic, with a fresh groove that seems to come out of nowhere. Check them out.
