The Way Home by Pocket Sounds

Seriously fell in love with this track at the first listen. The vocal is honest and direct, full of melancholy and dripping with an air of uncertainty. The lush build in the chorus is emotive, a pensive buildup on the enervated delivery in the vocalist’s lyrics. The outcome is brilliant and the artist really brings this together so well.

In 2016, Austin multi-instrumentalist Mike StClair began Pocket Sounds. After years of touring with Okkervil River, The Polyphonic Spree, and others, this Bassist, Trombonist, and Synth player has now moved into the singer/songwriter role and hopefully, he will never look back. Mike StClair is a gifted songwriter and a pure talent, using simple poetic forms in the lyric, and harnessing passion in his unassuming vocal.
