Stavanger, Norway may not be the first name you are thinking of when looking for new alt/indie tunes. Skyscraper formed in 2017, released their ep “Heaven and Earth” by the following December. I can definitely see some comparisons with some more traditional alt-rock acts, like Muse or Phoenix. I prefer to think the band is moving in a more unique direction. Band members Sveinung Fjermestad, Haakon Eggebø, and Einar Philip Sortland Melkersen wield some nice electronics and subtle pop vocals that play in and out giving some great feeling and fun summer vibes.
I think the instrumentation is enough to keep your head bopping. Nice breaks and dynamics throughout. Again includes a great chorus that although a bit slow definitely gets you singing; I could see this playing out wonderfully in their live set.
