Neon Islands are a-Rockin’ four-piece alternative alt-pop UK band that performed at numerous festivals last year, including the Isle of Wight, The Great Escape, Sound City Liverpool, and BBC Introducing LIVE. This new single, “Moon,” is a transient and energetic track that builds off the band’s natural dynamics, while exploring the challenges that come from our day-to-day routines in a long-distance relationship.
The main theme of the song is the confusion generated by the sadness of being apart. Starting a long-distance relationship is like going through a breakup, except for the fact that the lovers are actually trying to salvage the relationship, not to end it.
There is a great vibe to the tune that draws out the lines of this emotive experience amongst lush synth and up-tempo melodic delivery.
