I first heard Tessa on a collab with the Vancouver pop troupe daysormay, and was instantly struck by her vocal style. For this song, Words Ain’t Enough, Tessa plays alongside Chloe Moriondo, a beautiful songwriter who channels her listless twee angst amidst a myriad of emotion. This song started as a voice to a friend’s embattled relationship, in which she won’t listen, and he’s just not good enough.
I told myself I wrote this song from her perspective about this guy, but when I look back on it, I was also writing from my own experience having been in her position many times.
