Aria Ohlsson on IMR - Twenty

Twenty by Aria Ohlsson

This is a truly subtle track from the Toronto born Aria Ohlsson.

About Aria Ohlsson

Born in Toronto to a Pinoy mother and a Swedish father, Aria Ohlsson was raised in the mosaic city of Toronto with her siblings. She also spent some time on the west coast of Canada in Vancouver, but moved back to Toronto at 18 years old to pursue her music career and has since been living back and forth between both Canadian coasts. The talented singer/songwriter draws inspiration from the likes of Amy Winehouse to John Mayer with a soulful twist. “Music has always been an outlet of mine since I was a little girl, and being able to share my music with those around me and now the world is really a dream come true”.

This music outlet served crucial for the young girl after losing her mother; she found a way to translate her grief, sadness and melancholy through her guitar and lyrics. Her Youtube covers have garnered a respectable audience for her and she followed up by entering (and sometimes winning) various singing competitions during her teenage years including being a finalist on the Coca Cola Covers in 2012. Aria is currently crafting her debut EP with various collaborators including Jay Century and Mark Pelli (from the band Magic!) who produced her previous single “Heaven”. The latter, released for Mother’s Day, received major support including winning the grand prize with the nationwide SOCAN Foundation Awards for Young Canadian Songwriters (August 2019). The sky’s the limit for this young singer/songwriter.
