Benjamin Carter is a musician who uses his music to tell stories – heartache and love, addiction and gentrification, even tapping into the years of racial oppression he’s faced – in hopes of developing artists of the next generation do the same.
Caymanian-American, based in Washington DC. Benjamin Carter, an artist and multi-instrumentalist began pursuing music 7 years ago when he released his first EP Heart and Soul on Noisetrade with the soon to follow Colours EP a year later. Founded on a mix of folk and neo-soul, Benjamin took some time to finish college in Lakeland, where he began to work with bands and artists such as Bela Pierce .
After graduating college and moving back to Washington D.C. Benjamin released a cover of “River” by Leon Bridges on Soundcloud in February 2018. Since then Benjamin Carter has released an acoustic take-away show of his Original Song “Rest Easy” on IGTV and Youtube and released his first single Hills in August 2018 and his second single in December of 2018, Cosmic.
