Tuarrah returns with Rhinebeck, the first single from their sophomore record ‘Lying on Our Backs’ due out in February 2020. The single is the foundation for what will be a collection of songs that seek to unify us in our vulnerability. It also establishes a sound that blends the hybrid energy of a band in a room and occasionally, a more elaborate studio production.
The song Rhinebeck, penned by Tuarrah founder Charlie Van Kirk, came from a moment of incidental voyeurism. From the driver’s seat of his parked car, he witnessed a couple 20 yards away have an interaction that looked like a staged drama. Unable to hear their voices, he wrote the song immediately afterward, attempting to figure out what might have transpired between them.
