HEKA, a Bristol band, is showcasing their flavour of dark meandering across layered synth and alt-rock instrumentation. The result is a really raw, vibrant delivery. I enjoyed the layers and instrumentation, this track features some great drive and solid energy. Vocally, the singer feels very distant, but has this quirky almost Thom York style spirit that pulls the listener into the tune.
The playfulness in the synth is a great attention grabber, there are strong guitar stabs throughout, while the melodic drive around the 1:50 mark brings out this soothing transition that really feels great.
This is the bands third single and perhaps my favorite. You got to check this out!
