Liz Rachel Walker has written a poetically lush tune for us to enjoy. The song is a telling of her experience, in which Liz found herself physically disabled and eventually finding a medication that began to alleviate her symptoms. The story doesn’t end there as the life she used to lead could no longer be, leaving Liz in a place of deep uncertainty.
This is a story of questions, of hope, and ultimately leads to her redemption. Co-written with Robbie Hancock, Find My Way Back To Myself has garnered third place in the Women’s Freedom Song Contest. The instrumentation is soft and minimalist. The steady kick keeps the pace for the banjo and rhythm guitar, while the vocal softly tells of her personal journey.
