Timing is a self-critical song in that it challenges my idea of circumstantial timing versus fear. I find that I can mask my own fear by convincing myself “it’s not the right time” or “you should wait on it.” I find my deepest regrets in life aren’t things that I did, they’re things that I didn’t do.
