The Brilliance listen on IMR

Suite No. 1 Oh Dreamer by The Brilliance

David Gungor and John Arndt have begun a thoughtful art album.

These tracks carry an eerie tone that flows over the listener in waves.  Symphonic, and cinematic, Suite No. 1 Oh Dreamer is a different kind of album.  Lyrically, the Brilliance aka; David Gungor and John Arndt, are composing dreamy yet poignant vocal strings that evoke many questions and bring to the surface many revelations.

I believe this to be a very encouraging listen and an awakening for the listener. The suite is dedicated to DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) dreamers and there is a brilliant interview/ article on the writing and creation of the album here.  In that article David Gungor states: “We’d like to release music that is based around people’s stories that inspire us.”  This is an inspirational album full of hope and truth.  The musicianship is top-notch, the composition and delivery is fantastic.

I see this as a thoughtful album that is artistic and beautiful.  The songs themes are rich, provoking deeper questions that as “thoughtful” human beings we might want to be asking.
